  • VB100 comparative review on Windows 7 Professional: This month the VB lab team put a monster haul of products to test on Windows 7 Professional, but were disappointed by the level of unreliability, untrustworthiness and flakiness they encountered. John Hawes has all the gory details.
  • VBSpam comparative review December 2010: One month later than planned, the tenth VBSpam report puts 19 full solutions to the test as well as one reputation blacklist. Martijn Grooten has all the details.
  • Commercial 'malware' production: 'The development and application of sophisticated malware ... already exists within the commercial realm.' Gunter Ollmann, Damballa
  • Android SMS trojans: new platform, 'old' tricks: August 2010 saw the appearance of the first piece of malware for the Android mobile platform. Denis Maslennikov examines three variants of the FakePlayer SMS trojan.
  • Case study: the Ibank trojan: Alisa Shevchenko sheds some light on the technology of online banking fraud with an indepth analysis of the Ibank trojan which targets a wide variety of Russian online banking technologies.
  • What's the deal with sender authentication? Part 5: Sender authentication is a hot topic in the world of email. It has a number of uses and a number of suggested uses. Which ones work in real life? Which ones don't quite measure up? Can we use authentication to mitigate spoofing? Can we use it to guarantee authenticity? And how do we authenticate email, anyway? Terry Zink provides the answers to these questions and more, this month focusing on the main technology used to digitally sign emails: DKIM.
